Well, I was arguing, but then I realized I just don’t feel strongly enough about the topic to let it bother me anymore.

Top 10 Things Better Than Sex
First, I wrote a list called “Top 10 Things Better Than Sex” for toptenz.net. Then, I wrote Top 10 Facts About Nymphomaniacs. I did not come up with the topics on my own, and I was not anticipating how the comments sections would fill with both name-calling and TMI. I certainly didn’t mean to offend anyone. In the first case, the ten things better than sex were taken from online research of surveys, articles, etc. It wasn’t my personal list and I wouldn’t disclose my personal feelings about this topic publicly, yet commenters kept making it personal. In the case of the 2nd article, I based the list on the ‘fact’ that nymphomania is an outdated medical term that isn’t used anymore, so I didn’t expect that there would be any nymphomaniacs around to offend. Boy was I wrong.
Driving and Dining
In the meantime, I am writing about less controversial topics, such as my favorite concession stand foods, at drivinganddining.com. So, if you’ve ever wondered about the history of the hotdog or ponder where corndogs come from, check it out. I think I’m secretly a carny because I love concession food, amusement parks, carnivals, and roadside attractions. I’m using a lot of my own photos on the site, from various roadtrips and vacations.

Thanks Shell. The ongoing nasty comments have helped me to develop a thicker skin, which actually has made me a more courageous person (not just as a writer, but also as a musician and more) - so they are a good thing. I’m just always surprised by what actually incites the disdain of the anonymously angry commenters out there. As in every part of life, it would be nice if the constructive, positive people politely spoke up just as much as the unfriendly and rude ones…
What the heck? I had no idea this was such a hot topic — outside of the bedroom. And, Christian Nymphos? I guess you learn something new every day.
