I’ve been blogging for about 5 months now. My experiences as a blogger so far have been good. Writing about writing and making music in particular has inspired me to write more, play more, and promote my band more.
I have also learned a little about this whole new world at the same time. As far as the technical side of this world, I have to say I feel like I have a long way to go - it’s a steep learning curve but I’m limping along as fast as I can. I’m in the position now where I have a lot of information about how my blog should work, but I just don’t have a clue how to do it yet (I’m working on that). I don’t really understand what RSS feeds are, how the whole newsletter thing would work, and I obviously don’t really understand how to stumble something because I recently stumbled my ‘getting started with Firefox’ page by accident. Oops.
As in the real world, some of the inhabitants of this new world are very generous with advice and kindness …others not so much. My very first experience was very positive: I was extremely lucky to bump into a very patient webmaster who pointed me in the right direction and even helped jazz up my blog.
As a result of all of these thoughts running through my head, I have added some extra information to my about me page.
