There should be a limit to how many similar houses you can put on one street – it should be part of the building permit application… …unless it is the blueprint for a Vancouver special, of course -
So 2012 is coming to an end and I’ve been collecting the books that I’ve read on Pinterest. It’s interesting to look back on the year this way – it felt like I read more actually but I guess I’ve been busy. Click on the image below to visit my books board – I guess there will be at least 1 or 2 more there by the end of December… My favorite book was In a Lonely Place – partially because I was so excited to find out the movie was based on a book. I don’t know how I managed to be such a big Bogart, film noir, and detective story fan and not know that – but it happens. The book I talked about the most was Keith Richards’ biography. I still have a backlog of Stones’ songs and his solo albums to listen to now that I have his stories bouncing around in my head
I’m one of those people who prefers the salad toppings to the actual salad. Here is a healthy way to get around this problem. I’m not sure that the picture looks very appetizing, but I think it’s pretty tasty. Fast version of this recipe included in (brackets). 3 tomatoes cut into wedges 1 avocado 1/2 cup fresh salsa (or store-bought fresh salsa – the kind that is refrigerated) Optional toppings: Fresh corn Fresh chopped cilantro Beans (black beans, chickpeas, etc) Serve with: Bed of lettuce Nacho chips Grilled fish or chicken
