To honor my first full week of tweeting, I’ve decided to pick my favorite web personality for this week from the ‘peeps’ (har har) I’m following on Twitter. This wasn’t an easy choice, but as always must fit my criteria of being a web personality (not a business, for example) and a real person. My experiences with Twitter deserve their own post (coming soon)… in the meantime let me tell you about:
Deerblood and Opium
Platforms: Website (Deerblood and Opium) and Twitter (eenobody)
Who He Is:

Earl is a writer, filmmaker, and dad living in Brooklyn. His own words: “A lapsed Baptist, Earl spent his formative years coughing up lungfuls of river water. At thirteen he lit out from the small southern town that raised him and has been looking back ever since. After a brief sojourn in Hollywood, he drifted East to Brooklyn where he married a local girl with hazel eyes.”
Best Quote Online:
My daddy was a pistol; I’m a son of a gun.
5 Reasons Why I Chose Him:
1. His honest accounts of parenthood and life in general.
2. I enjoy his tweets - they are a nice companion to my own writing and parenting life.
3. I feel like I can hear a growly drawl in his writing pace and his voice which I find soothing - sort of like listening to Tom Waits’ music.
4. The images he uses with his writing are always intriguing, sometimes disturbing, and often confusing - a thought provoking triple threat.
5. There is an old rumor that one of my favorite drinks, Jagermeister, contains small parts of deerblood and opium so the name of Earl’s blog resonated with me. (Hey it’s my list, I can pick my favorites on any criteria that I want…)
