One of the best things about being on the computer so much these days is discovering the many different web personalities out there and I feature one web personality a week. I try to select this personality objectively from the personalities that I come across each week but I’ve cheated twice already and used Mike Watt and Courtney Love (I was already familiar with these two online presences).
In honor of the Best of 604 awards, held by Miss604.com, I am picking my favorite web personality from the nominees - all local blogs. I spent most of yesterday looking at them.
Matt, writer of Onomatopoeia, was listed as one of the nominees for Best Humor Site 2008. Just because this personality lives in the same area as me, I feel compelled to add l do not know him personally and neither he nor his family members are employees of ishouldbenapping. He doesn’t actually go by the name “Onomatopoeia” as far as I can tell but it seemed weird saying, “Favorite Web Personality #6: Matt”. Too personal or something…

5 Reasons Why I Chose Him:
1. His “Matt In a Nutshell” on his about me page is made up of 18 bullet points (and they are not short).
2. I would read his book if he wrote one.
3. Reading his blog led me to his wife’s blog - Maktaaq.com (not sure why she wasn’t nominated, too - her blog is really great). His wife’s blog is a mix of funny, personal and practical. Her photos and list about her cat Ivan drew me in and her list of annoying blogging habits was helpful.
4. His use of the blog format is inspired - I like how he has his posts split into days, dreams, and years. I enjoyed using these tools to sample his writing.
5. Ninja 411. Need I say more? Hilarious!
