probably scaring you a little bit…

The world’s creepiest craft?

pony-tail-craft-2

Here is my recently hacked-off pony tail with googly eyes.

This hair removal took on the form of a celebration, with my friend Rosie there to witness my escape from this big frizzy monster that had been following me around for almost a decade. She then sat next to me at the salon, holding it on her lap like a little dog, petting it once in a while.

It joined us for drinks afterwards and got a ride in my friend Leah’s sweet Ford Falcon.

A few days later it grew some googly eyes and surprised two of my best friends in the whole world, Jodi and Kristine, when it joined them for drinks on our back porch. Good times.

I’m not sure what to do with him now. Our physical bond has been severed, yet I still feel an attachment.

My friend Jodi suggested I post it on eBay as a merkin, but I can’t get past the forlorn look in his eyes so I might have to install him into a shadow box and hang him above my craft table.

Digg!

  1. I love your sense of humor. You could call it “Cousin It” or maybe submit it to Regretsy: http://www.regretsy.com/category/dead-things/

Maybe I should mail it to you and it can scare thieves out of your front yard! (did you just get the shivers? don’t worry! I won’t send it to you!)

  3. I think its funny and I think you should keep it!

  4. Funny! Who was more upset about your haircut? You or your friend? You can also check into donating it to charity, my daughter is going to do that pretty soon to help out cancer patients.

No one was upset- it was more of a celebration! It had about 16 layers of permanent dye over a whole lot of gray, so I doubt anyone would accept it - otherwise, I would definitely have donated it. Apparently it’s also good for my compost, so it might end up there because I saw it out of the corner of my eye the other day and it scared me!
